Does your cat meow all the time? Here are 5 ways to solve this problem
1.  Ignore it
If your cat meows just to get your attention or to ask for something from you (food, caresses, going out...), the first thing to do is to ignore it. Indeed, it has become accustomed to having what it wants as soon as it opens its mouth and therefore has no reason not to continue
You will therefore need patience before it realizes that it is not by meowing that it will get something from you. To encourage it in this way, do not hesitate to give it what it asks for once it has stopped meowing. Otherwise, NEVER give up, even if it meows in your ears in the middle of the night for hours so you can open the door or feed it.
2. Train it
Cats that are not seeking to capture your attention may simply be talkative. Indeed, some cats love to spend hours discussing with humans. This is the case in particular for the Siamese or Tonkinese.
In such cases, you only have one option: to train it to meow when you decide to do so. We'll let you know right away, it's not an easy task! To do this, you need to teach your cat to meow only at specific times, such as before going out or eating. From now on, you will only feed it when you ask it to meow, not when it starts meowing on its own. This way, your little fur ball will understand that its meows allow it to get what it wants only if you give the order.
3. Stimulate it
If your cat is meowing because it' s bored, just spend a little more time with it and buy some toys to deal with the problem. Make sure you schedule a playtime every day at the same time (in the evening after work, for example) to make it part of its routine. Thus, your cat will wait for this moment impatiently all day long and, as a result, will know that he doesn't need to mew to ask you.
4. Reassure it
Cats meow because they are stressed and you will need to comfort them. For this, observe it closely in its environment to know what can frighten it so much. If the street is under construction, the constant noise could explain its constant meowing. In this case, place it in the best soundproof room in your house during the day. Likewise, if the traffic noise is what bothers it. You can also try to provide small shelters high up so that they feel safe.
Otherwise, you can try to calm the feline by spraying synthetic pheromones in its living spaces. To do this, consult your veterinarian for assistance.
5. Meet all its needs
To prevent repetitive meowing, don't give your cat a chance to complain. Ensure that all its needs are met at all times.
For that, change the water in his bowl every day so that it is always clean and fresh, make sure that his kibble bowl is always full, its litter box is clean, its flap is running or that it has access to his scratching post. In short, always stay one step ahead of it!

10 Signs That Shows Your Cat Is Depressed

10 Signs That Shows Your Cat Is Depressed

Like us, cats can have a depression. But unlike us, depression in cats is most often fatal to animals. Indeed, the feline's discomfort is so severe to the point where it can neglect itself and stop feeding. Life no longer makes sense to him. But before it comes to that, learn to recognize the early signs so you can react as quickly as possible.

1. It shows uncleanliness
If your cat suddenly starts urinating and defecating outside the litter box, something is wrong. After ruling out any problems with the health and positioning of the litter, a blow of depression is the most likely cause of this sudden change in behavior
2. It lacks energy
Overnight, your ordinary playful and happy cat suddenly stops thinking about anything but staying in bed all day? It lacks enthusiasm and seems very tired? It's a sign that he's not feeling well.
3. He no longer eats or eats too much
A cat that suddenly loses its appetite or, contrarily, shows bulimia is the victim of a profound malaise. Similarly, a cat that starts eating everything and anything, edible or not, is a stressed cat.

4.  It becomes aggressive
When the cat is depressed, he may no longer tolerate interactions or even become aggressive towards humans
5. It grooms too much or not enough
If your cat starts to groom excessively or no longer grooms at all, it is a sign of complete depression. He can even sometimes pull out his hair by licking himself
6. It stinks
A depressed cat usually stinks, whether he grooms regularly or not. This desire to let bad smells settle is in fact a form of suicide for the cat since, in nature, predators could then immediately spot it.

7. It no longer sleeps
When the cat enters the last phase of depression, he becomes insomniac
8. It has digestive disorders
Although this symptom may also be a symptom of other diseases, digestive disorders are one of the characteristic signs of depression. The cat has nausea and diarrhea simply because this state of permanent sadness stresses him.
9. It isolates itself
If your cat is depressed, it will tend to isolate itself, no longer wanting to see anyone. It will no longer welcome you when you return home and your presence will be completely indifferent to him. This state of prostration is not to be ignored.

10. It mews at night
Your cat used to let you sleep at night, but recently it has been meowing loudly in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. It is a way for him to express his anguish.
